While it is a little pricey compared to my typical italian restaurant pricing, the food was really really great and I would totally go again. We didn't have a reservation but got seated right away. However, about half an hour later it seemed to get really busy and people were having to wait a while to get seated. The setting was super intimate but still lively. Cute paintings on the wall and very warm. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the wine pricing. It was a fine pinot noir but not worth 16$ a glass. We started with the beet salad, really refreshing 8.8/10 I didn't try my friends lasagna but she said it was great. My rigatoni was a 9/10. The bread with butter and chimichurri was also a 9/10. We finished with the tiramisu special. Not the best I've ever had but really great. 8/10

I was in the Santa Barbara area for a few days and stopped by Toma as it was within walking distance from my hotel. I took a seat at the bar and was immediately acknowledged by the bartender. I ordered a half bottle of Chardonnay and the lasagna. I must say that both were just outstanding. The service from the bartender was excellent and everyone was just super friendly and helpful. If you are ever in the area, check them out!

I usually take hotel restaurant recommendations with a grain of salt since it always feels inauthentic, however, this recommendation DID NOT miss the mark. Signed in and left our name on the list and was told it was going to be about 45 mins - 1 hr for a table. My girlfriend and I went on a walk and received our check in text less than 30 minutes later. We love that. Came in and got seated at the bar where Kevin helped us. Started off with a house margarita that was absolutely killer. Followed that up by ordering Cesar Salad, Steamed Mussels, and a Linguini Pasta to share. It's been a week since my visit and I still think about those steamed mussels. I would strongly recommend this dish. The Cesar salad can't do no wrong either. The linguini was fantastic and all of the seafood was well worth the cost. All in all, 3 dishes, 3 drinks, ran me short of $180 after tax and tip.

Tomas was amazing. I especially loved the house made sourdough with whipped garlic butter and the truffle gnocchi. It was a little crowded when we went but it was still relatively attentive for when we finished our food. The truffle gnocchi knocked it out of the park for me. The amount of shrimp was crazy and they were meaty pieces. Definitely appreciative of the SB food sources. We got the phyllo crisp for dessert and it was okay... I wish it had a bit of a salt taste for the pistachio crisp since it was kind of over shadowed by the raspberry mousse and fruits. Overall definitely recommend the gnocchi and bread though!

This is one of the best restaurants we've had the pleasure to dine in. Our second visit was a spectacular one, with the restaurant knocking it out of the park for its food, wine and service. We ordered: --Ahi Tuna Cones, for an appetizer. Very different, fun and tasty. Had a slight ginger flavor which I liked. --Black Spaghetti. This is a must order for seafood lovers and those who love Linguine with Clam Sauce. A squid ink spaghetti-like noodle with clams and spicy pancetta in a rich clam broth. We can't stop talking about how good it is. -- New Zealand Rack of Lamb. An incredible dish with six small rib bones, creamy polenta, basalmic tomatoes, black olives, zucchini and squash in a rich delicious sauce. Absolutely outstanding. --Sourdough Bread with Chimichurri and Garlic Butter. So good. I actually preferred the Chimichurri over the butter, but we dipped the bread in the clam broth and lamb sauce, too. --Bottle of the Cordon Pinot Noir. Very flavorful and fruity. --Two Limoncellos for dessert. Fresh lemon taste. Not too cloying or syrupy. Just right. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was outstanding, and wine and water glasses were promptly filled, dirty plates cleared. After the appetizer, our waiter suggested that we share the spaghetti first, then the lamb, which was a great suggestion, as we wanted to split everything. Toma is a must visit while in Santa Barbara. Dress code is Santa Barbara casual. Make reservations well in advance as this small restaurant fills up fast.

I'll give them 1 extra star for their Caesar salad which was excellent and their customer service. My husband loved their lasagna, he calls it professional lasagna lol. The rigatoni was ok, I thought it was too Al dente and the Italian sausage wasn't my favorite. The restaurant was quite busy on Thursday night so luckily we made reservations beforehand. Overall, I recommend it!

Toma is usually such a good experience! I love how intimate the restaurant is and it is romantic. The service is usually very good but the last time we went there they seemed pretty busy and it took longer than usual. We were celebrating a birthday and they didn't acknowledge that but we tried! I loved the tomato basil soup but felt it was overpriced. They charged $20 for the soup and gave you a very small bowl! The pastas are always so good! Overall a decent experience but not as great as previous ones!

From "back up" restaurant, to best meal I had in Santa Barbara! Food - If you want pasta, order the Truffle Gnocchi! It's so well executed. Fresh pillow soft gnocchi, perfectly poached shrimp, and the most divine tomato-y buttery sauce. The sauce alone with bread would have been amazing as well. The Crispy Skin Salmon is also well cooked, but lacking a bit with the flavor. For our app, we got the Tuna Cones which seemed very random but they're great as well! Drinks - Lots and lots of wine. I almost got a cocktail but their wine list was so expansive, it just made sense to order from there. Dessert - The olive oil cake was pretty good! The plating surprised me, it's beautiful. Love the fresh citrus slices with this. Service - So great! Our server was very pleasant and the pacing of the meal was perfect. He also bought us a little treat since we were celebrating. Ambiance - Not pretentious. Cozy. It almost feels homey despite the white tablecloths. Most people are dressed casually. Pricing - Fair for the quality. Definitely $$$ Parking - Street! And it was easy on a Saturday night

Roma was good! We went on a Saturday night for dinner and the place was fully seated! It wasn't too loud to hear conversation at our table which was nice even though the setting felt intimate. The food was good! We got two pastas (one was squid ink) and a pork chop and a chicken breast. The food was good but not necessarily our favorite Italian place. Good restaurant and I would recommend but would probably try other restaurants before I came back.

Came across this restaurant by the west beach in Santa Barbara. Didn't make an reservation but luckily they offered some seats at the bar. I was super hungry so I was so happy with that. Their Cioppino tasted so good!! Out there in Santa Barbara, it was quoted as colder at night than Orange County. But the food made me feel warm and relaxed. The dessert was amazing, but the guy at the bar gave me a soup spoon instead of a dessert spoon for the ice cream, which was pretty funny. I asked him to bring me a dessert spoon instead. Apart from that, the staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant and enjoyable!
